this past Wednesday, Jimi Hendrix's drummer died in his hotel room of natural causes. influenced by jazz drummers Elvin Jones and Max Roach, Mitch Mitchell pioneered a style of drumming which would later become known as "fusion", which melded jazz and rock drumming styles.
